Hello, I’m Prof. Dr. Serdar Aydın, a Urogynecologist, surgeon, and researcher dedicated to advancing women’s health through innovation and technology.
With a dual background in Medicine and Biomedical Engineering, I’ve spent my career exploring how intelligent design, simulation, and personalized medicine can transform surgical outcomes.
As the Head of Urogynecology at Koç University Hospital and founder of SIMICAD and Care Surgery, I lead interdisciplinary teams developing next-generation surgical tools, AI-driven training systems, and realistic simulation platforms that bridge the gap between practice and performance.
My mission is simple yet ambitious:
to make surgery safer, smarter, and more human-centered — empowering both surgeons and patients through innovation and compassion.
My Story
My journey began in the operating room — a place where precision, empathy, and timing define everything.
Over years of surgical experience, I realized that success in surgery isn’t just about skill; it’s about preparation, technology, and understanding human anatomy in its most dynamic form.
This insight inspired me to merge my clinical background with biomedical engineering — to build tools that simulate real tissue, replicate surgical complexity, and help train future surgeons in a risk-free environment.
Through projects like Care Surgery and SIMICAD, I’ve worked to create 3D-printed, AI-enhanced surgical training systems and custom surgical kits that personalize care for every patient.
Each prototype, each innovation, is a step toward a future where surgery becomes not only more precise, but also more compassionate.
